Located in Atlanta Georgia, about 15 miles from Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport, the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum is part of the presidential library system.
The library provides a mine of information, on the life and times of President Jimmy Carter. Aesthetically pleasing, it is set amidst sprawling 30 acres of gardens, sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls.
This library houses millions of pages of documents, memoranda and correspondence from Jimmy Carter's White House years, along with a large collection of photographs, audio and videotapes.
A permanent exhibit of significant events occurring during Jimmy Carter's life and political career includes photographs with interpretative text. It provides a unique experience for the visitor. Through displays of room settings, objects, documents, photographs, audio, and video, visitors can acquire glimpses of the modern American Presidency.
The archives provide valuable information for historians journalists, researchers, writers and others studying American History in the last half of the 1970s.
Museum hours: Mon- Sat: 9:00 am- 4:45 pm; Sun: 12:00 pm- 4:45 pm.
Library (Research) Hours: Mon- Fri 8:30am- 4:30pm, closed on Jan 1, Thanksgiving and Dec 25.
Admission: Adults: .00; Seniors (60+), Military, and students with IDs: .00; Children (16 and under): Free.
