Taverna Plaka takes you back to classic Greece, one of the oldest civilizations in the world, where myth art and culture flourished. It is Atlanta's one and only true Greek Taverna "Taverna" is the Greek word for tavern and is the rough equivalent of an English pub, it is the place full with entertainment, dancing and music!

Plaka is Athens' oldest and most picturesque neighborhood, which gives the first- hand experience of the history of Athens and its people.

Divine traditional cuisine is served here in simple taverna style, meaning there are no courses. Food is served as prepared and whatever is done first is served first. Some dishes are thought of as mezedes (or first courses) and other dishes are considered of as kyria piata (or main courses).

As dusk descends, the Taverna vibrates with life. You can enjoy the strains of traditional Mediterranean and Middle Eastern music like tsifteteli, nisiotika, demotika, laiki, modern Greek and Arabic rock, techno/dance and pop music. One of the highlights of the Tavern is belly dancing which was popular in ancient Greece.
