Since 1968, the Alliance Theatre has served as Atlanta's foremost theatre, working within the local, national and international communities to become one of the leading regional theatres in America. Located in the Robert W. Woodruff Art Center, the theater has excelled under the leadership of artistic director Susan V. Booth and managing director Thomas Pechar.

The theater brings out the best of its performances annually between mid to late September and March. During season it hosts several production of minority or ethnic interest, along with Broadway favorites, Alliance originals and "A Christmas Carol". A long- established children's theater performs a couple of shows each year.

It serves more than 225,000 patrons annually. Its patrons can avail of a family package which is easier on the pocket.

The theater not only provides entertainment but also works hard to bring to Atlanta the finest talent and the highest artistic standards. It tries to propagate art among the younger generation and also to provide teachers with strategies for relating the artistic work of theatre to the school curriculum.
