The Proud Capital of Georgia

Atlanta has the highest rate of population in the entirety of Georgia. The residents of Atlanta are called Atlantans. The city was previously called Marthasville. Several renaming was done till the Georgia Railroad Engineer suggested the name Atlantica Pacifica and then was shortened and called Atlanta. This was in effect on December of 1847. It was in 1868 when Atlanta served as the capital of Georgia.

Atlanta's Skyline

You can locate the tallest landmark in the world at the Atlanta's Skyline. This is where you would see most of the high rise buildings. There are three districts in the city's high rises, they are the Buckhead, Midtown and Downtown. Other notable buildings and towers are the Westin Peach tree Plaza, the 191 Peachtree Tower, Georgia Pacific Tower and SunTrust Plaza.
