There are many things to do in Atlanta. If you have never been to Atlanta, Georgia then you are missing out on what is known as the only true city of the South. They have museums that display great works and have art exhibitions that bring in works from all over the world. There is a plethora of museums, landmarks and reenactments of the South. There is music from all over and every period of time. There are traditional restaurants and fine dining as well as many themed eateries. They also have some of the greatest haunted houses to visit and shiver over.

Atlanta shopping is some of the best in the Old South and is known for how much just plain fun it promises to be. It is known to some as the shopping mecca of the South. No matter where you are in Atlanta there is a mall of some sort within a very short distance. There is Lenox Square that has over 250 retailers plus, of course, a theater and dining. For those that are into the finer things there is the Perimeter Mall that has 195 upscale stores plus specialty kiosks and five fine dining restaurants. If you prefer fashion than you need to stop by Phipps Plaza. And then you have place like Underground Atlanta.

Like most major cities you face the challenges of car parking - car hire in Atlanta. Downtown there is no free parking although most of the time you can get your parking stub validated by the stores that you visit. There are quite a few parking garages as well as a number of parking lots. There are many parts of Atlanta where the streets are wide enough that they have parallel parking, usually accompanied by a meter. You also have the option of taking the bus or the famous southern railway that will take you to and from most points in Atlanta.

A visit to an Atlanta hotel, whether for business or pleasure is only surpassed by the enjoyment of attending an Atlanta restaurant.. Many times you will find that your hotel has its own restaurant. However there are a multitude of choices for eating. Many of the restaurants offer southern cooking that you will not find anywhere else in the world. If you like a little music with your meal then they have places that will satisfy both appetites. You can sit down and enjoy a nice meal while listening to a live band playing music from the 40's on up to current hits. It doesn't matter what kind of palette you have, Atlanta is sure to have something to satisfy.
